We have finally been seeing some gorgeous sunny spring time weather and decided to make the most of it. As you all know the beach is our favourite place to be so myself, Amelia and my Mum headed down to spend the morning and lunch at our beach hut, picnic in hand! This post is mostly photos; if you haven’t been sick of my instagram feed then keep reading and take a look at all the great shots I got during our day!
Look how proud Amelia is to be strutting along the beach!
When we first got there it was really quiet so we made the most of the time sitting on the sand. We got Amelia a bucket and spade set from Tesco’s for £4 filled with lots of bits and bobs for Amelia to use. This will be really good to leave at the beach hut so we can use it whenever we go down, which is a lot! She loved digging and filling up her bucket and collecting shells. She didn’t quite grasp the sandcastle aspect and just liked knocking over any of the ones I built. We walked down to the sea and Amelia dipped her toes in! She can’t quite hold herself steady when the waves go back in and did fall over a couple of times (note the outfits changes throughout all the pictures!)
We enjoyed a little play in the beach hut and ate our picnic. Amelia also enjoyed a bit of time out as being a toddler is super hard work obviously!!
Once we had done this we walked along the prom down to the little sandy park. Amelia went on the slide a few times but mostly enjoyed running around. I love all the photo’s I got of her stomping around in her super cute new shoes!
On our way back we grabbed some ice-creams to eat back at the beach hut and Amelia had her first “OW”! She was running along and giggling whilst I was chasing her and she fell over and grazed her knee. Not bad to have gone 20month’s without a bleeding cut. She was easily distracted by her ice-cream though but did keep pointing at her knee for the rest of the day and shouting “ow ow ow ow OW”, she’s so funny!
This was Amelia’s first icecream that she’s ever had to herself. She’s had bits of what I’ve had and little spoonfuls here and there but she was so pleased to tuck into her very own Smarties Ice lolly. As you can imagine a toddler and icecream came with a huge mess but she enjoyed it and was in a complete different world licking away! Whilst we ate our icecreams we took a little selfie and once Amelia spotted herself in the camera she was in hysterics. Giggling and pointing at herself covered in ice-cream. It was such a great moment and I love these pictures of her so much!
My Mum took some really lovely photo’s of me and Amelia playing in the shallows that I really love!
Thanks for reading!xx
