Amelia has been back in the kitchen again and treated us to some more cup cakes!
I will let her bake something else eventually but she was in a grump so I wanted to do an activity to distract her and keep her busy and these were the ingredients we had in the cupboards…and who doesn’t love cake!
Like always I used the Hummingbird Bakery Vanilla Cupcake recipe, it is my go-to tastes amazing recipe!
I think Amelia actually knew what we were doing this time and got quite excited standing up at her chair and choosing which cupcake cases to use. She filled up the tin with the cases and helped me tipping the ingredients into the mixer. She gets quite possessive when she has a spoon and will not let it go until its prised out of her hand when the cakes went into the oven.
This time Amelia was really into twisting the dial on the mixer and turning up up, obviously it had to be on the fastest setting and she kept peeping into the mixer watching it churn around! We had a few squeals of excitement when it was going super fast, very cute!!
She also kept peeping into the oven watching her cakes this time !
After last times meltdown with the decorating (all she wanted to do was eat the mixture) this time was a bit more successful.
Amelia helped spread the chocolate frosting around the cake then put a chocolate heart on each and sprinkled with pink glitter- pretty clever hey?!
Amelia obviously couldn’t help herself and did have to taste the chocolate frosting, which as you can tell she enjoyed.
It is so fun having Amelia help out in the kitchen and doing baking together. I think already my controlling has calmed as I wasn’t too fussed as to what the cakes looked like but wanted Amelia to be enjoying herself and getting involved.
She really is able to do much more than I thought and makes a pretty delicious cupcake.
