Blue Pool – Exploring New Places

Bank Holiday’s are the perfect way to go exploring and spend some time outside. The weather hasn’t been that great but we thankfully were graced with some sunshine on Monday so we used it wisely! I only recently discovered this place called the Blue Pool in Furzebrook about half an hour down the road from where we live. I was really shocked to have never been here before and this seemed like the perfect time to take the trip.

It was £6 for adults and children under 16 go free and I would say you could spend half a day there we did the morning and lunch time!

It is totally buggy friendly, quite woodsy but using the pram was fine! Or there is a route that you can take for a slightly longer walk that has steps and ups and downs!

It’s quite a hidden spot and I loved that even when you are there the actual Blue Pool itself remains hidden. It’s such a nice forest location and as you start your walk around the pool you can see little peeks at the pool! But the best views are when you get to the end of your walk!

They have hidden fairy doors on the tree’s to look out for which Amelia loved spotting and there was a fox cub running around whilst we were there too! Amelia also had a good read of the brochure to make sure we didn’t miss anything.

I will let the photo’s talk for themselves but the views were stunning and it was such a peaceful spot!

I just couldn’t get over the colour, it was slightly more green than blue on the day we visited but the colour was so vibrant and amazing!

There is also a really lovely play park, it is staggered out which I really liked so there weren’t any bigger children playing in the bit that Amelia could do. We had it to ourselves so Amelia enjoyed pushing fur cones down the slide and running in and out of the little house. She won’t go on the swings so a slide with steps that she is able to climb up herself is a huge bonus!

There is a little tea room, museum and gift shop. Inside the gift shop is the Wareham bears which Amelia got very excited about. It’s a nice little addition to the spot!

There are lots of spots for picnic’s on the walk round and a few picnic benches dotted around but you could also buy lunch at the tea room. We took lunch with us and enjoyed it outside in the sunshine!

I’m so pleased we found this spot and it is definitely one we will be heading back to again! Sometimes it’s really nice to find new places on your door step and I think we will be doing a lot more adventuring this summer locally in Dorset.

Thanks for reading!xx

Such a gorgeous spot. I love how the pool appears to change colour depending on the weather on the day. Beautiful photos xx
