Cardboard Tube Painting

Today I’m sharing a super easy craft post that you could throw together really last minute and I’m pretty sure you will have the correct supplies! All you need is a the cardboard inside of a toilet roll/kitchen roll tube. I ended up with a mixture and cut a kitchen roll tube in half to make them all the same size.

Then simply cut the end of tube to a pattern you desire. You could stick with simple shapes or do some splayed designs like I have. It was so easy to do and took minutes to set up.

Like all our painting activities I try to keep them simple as I’m never sure how Amelia will get on with them. She did best with the uncut roll that was just a circle as she didn’t always push hard enough for the other ones patterns to quite show up.

Cardboard Roll Painting

Doing this simple little activity just switched it up a little from just using a paint brush. However,we did end up back with the paint brush in hand drowning the paper in paint until you could no longer see the paper but hey that’s what she loves doing!

After doing this I was thinking you could use the inside of a foil roll as that is much more solid and a smaller circle or you could incorporate both for different sized stamps.

This is definitely one that I think will go down well when Amelia is a little older and understands to hold it down for a few seconds before removing it but none the less she was still pretty fascinated to see the outlined flowers and sun shapes on the paper!

Let me know if you do something similar.

Thanks for reading!xx
