A Famous Five Adventure Around Dorset – #LiteracyLegacy

To help celebrate World Book Day, Travelodge sent us on a Famous Five adventure around Dorset. Obviously were from Dorset so the territory wasn’t all new to us but we did to some really fun things that we’ve not done before and definitely thought about them in a different light. Enid Blyton books were part of my childhood, The Magic Faraway Tree being a huge favourite of mine and as I got older I loved the adventure tales of the Famous Five. I can’t wait to delve into these with Amelia as she gets older. Although Enid Blyton was born in South London she took inspiration from Dorset for many of her books. Her holidays in the Purbeck’s and exploring the Jurassic Coast gave her plenty of beautiful scenery to be inspired by and Corfe Castle’s mystical ruins being the inspiration of Kirrin Castle.
