Easter Playdough Platter

A great activity for Easter time is Easter Playdough.

This Easter themed Playdough Platter is great fun and simple to put together. Basically it’s just a slightly structured playdough session, Amelia loves getting all the extra craft bits out with the playdough as well as all the normal playdough tools!

First of all I started by making some playdough, you can find recipes here and here

The trick to making the pastel shades which I thought were Easter/Spring themed is to not add much food colouring at all, remember you can always add more! I use the wilton food colouring gels which I swear by and they last a really long time as you don’t need much at all.

I then found some Easter themed cutters to accompany the EasterPlaydough; a lamb, rabbit and sheep and some bits and pieces to add to them to make some fun characters like feathers, pom poms and googly eyes!

Amelia got stuck into the Easter Playdough straight away using the cutters and we made some chicks ourselves, she’s getting really good at knowing to put in two eyes, a nose, a mouth, feet etc so loved doing this!

I find Amelia lasts longer at playdough if there is a bit of structure to it and giving her a task like this keeps her interested! Playdough is great for fingers anyway but having the activity behind the play is brilliant for little ones who are always learning through play.

We ended up making pom pom sheep with eyes, bunnies with fluffy tails, ducks with eyes and feathers and some funky chicks!

I’m really pleased with how the Easter Playdough Platter went down and have got a couple more Spring themed playdough ideas and activities to share soon that I think you all will love!
