Easter Weekend 2017- Family Time and Food!

Easter weekend rolled around in the second weekend of our Easter break and we were really looking forward to it. Lots of family time, exciting things planned and of course the end of lent for me.

Our Good Friday started with the arrival of my sister and her boyfriend who were staying with us for the weekend.I’d read online that lent actually finishes on Maundy Thursday not the Sunday that everyone thinks so I got straight in there and myself and Amelia baked some Creme Egg Brownies, YUM!! We chilled, caught up and headed out to the local bluebell woods for a little walk. After our walk we went to Barford Icecream Farm and Gardens an absolutely stunning little garden that sells the most delicious ice cream that they make at the farm.

Saturday was a lovely day that we spent at Lulworth Castle for their Easter family weekend. It was such a lovely event and one that I would definitely consider going back to again next year. It was Alice in Wonderland themed. The little touches of decor here and there really made it. There was garden games, croquet on the lawn and mini golf for everyone to get stuck in with. Then you head off to the woods and hunt for tokens to claim an Easter surprise. Amelia loved it and got stuck in with everything. They had a crafty area inside and Amelia even got her face painted for the first time, a unicorn of course! We spent a good few hours here as there was so much to do and a really lush way to spend an Eastery afternoon. Our evening was spent enjoying steak sandwiches, cocktails and playing games!

Easter Sunday came around and of course chocolate was had for breakfast before a lovely little brunch spread. I set up a little Easter hunt for Amelia in the garden and she loved roaming around the garden filling up her basket. I’d twisted/rolled/sprained my ankle the day before playing football in the garden (note to self don’t play football again) so the family went off for a walk and scooter at the beach. Is it even Easter if you don’t make nests at some point, so we obviously had to make some of these and try not to eat it all off the spoon! My sister and her boyfriend treated us and cooked a delicious roast for us whilst myself, Amelia and my parents chilled watching Finding Nemo.

Monday was a pretty chilled home day after a busy weekend where more chocolate was consumed. It was a lovely weekend filled with food and family, what more could you want!

Hope you all had a lovely Easter whatever you got up to!

Thanks for reading!xx
