Stourhead Family Adventures

Since our first adventure to Stourhead I’ve been wanting to go back so we trekked off with my Mum and Dad and the dog to Stourhead for a nice family walk.

It was another beautifully sunny day and although it was cold the views were just as stunning as I remembered them the first time! My parents have been before but many years ago so were impressed with the scenery that Stourhead has to offer! As it was half term it was much busier than when we went but not too crazy that you couldn’t walk at your own pace and not feel too crowded!

Being outdoors is definitely when Amelia is at her happiest. Sticks to collect, puddles to jump in and ducks to scare  quack like! The walk really tired Amelia out this time so she did have to be carried a little toward the end but I think after a couple of miles that’s to be expected!

Although dogs need to be kept on a leash the walk was plenty enough for Archie and there are other little routes and paths you can take to make it longer if we had been without Amelia!

One of the little duck ponds was still frozen and we had a little laugh at watching some ducks walking over the frozen water whilst Amelia quacked like crazy and talked about Mummy Duck for a long time!

Amelia especially enjoyed exploring the grotto’s this time. She had a little duck friend that was just outside the window of the grotto that she fed the last of her “cheese sammie” too and had a little chat with.

We were all so ready to be back to the car and enjoy one of my biscuit treats I had made over the weekend. It was freezing but it’s always good to get out and enjoy some fresh air and Amelia especially loves a day that involves her Nana and Gramps!

Another place that we’ve been able to visit with our National Trust passes and one we will definitely be back to but when the weathers warmer!!

Thanks for reading!xx
