Fix It Tool Set | Let Toys Be Toys

We’ve recently been testing out the Fix It Kids’ Tool Set from Great Little Trading Company and some of you may think it’s a boys toy but I definitely think we should let toys be toys.

Tool Kit Feature

Amelia isn’t much of a girly girl and can often be found in a pair of football boots running around the garden playing dinosaurs or zooming her cars around but with that being said she’s growing to love her Princess toys. To be honest she enjoys all her toys and plays with whatever she fancies really and I love that.

This tool kit comes with 4 tools and 21 pieces including a hammer, two screwdrivers, a spanner, a ruler, nuts, bolts and five wooden pieces to make a mini workbench.  There are all the things you could possibly need for your every day fixing.

As soon as Amelia got the tool kit she got stuck in with fixing everything. Tipped her Jamm Scoot upside down and wooden pram and was turning the spanner around the wheels and hammering away. I was amazed to see how quickly she loved it. Her favourite thing is to get someone to help her make the “table” and then she can bang the bolts into the holes.

Amelia has had so much fun with her tool kit and asks Gramps to get his out so they can fix things together. Whenever anything is broken Amelia goes to get her tool kit so when Gramps needed some help fixing his car Amelia was there in a flash!

The tool kit set is nice and chunky making it perfect for Amelia’s hands and the holdall box it comes in is brilliant as it’s nice and easy for Amelia to carry around. All the tools are really smooth and made from sturdy wood.

Amelia is learning to turn the bolts with the screwdriver and her aim when using the hammer is pretty precise and pretty forceful! – the car bonnet did take a couple of whacks but what do you expect when you let your toddler granddaughter help you with your classic MG!

After watching us do it , Amelia loves to measure things whilst fixing using the little wooden ruler. She shouts out random numbers and is always right!!

I love love this set. The toy is excellent quality and is just like a miniature version of the real thing which is just what children want to play with. It is perfect for both boys and girls and is amazing for encouraging role play. Being that the toy is wooden no batteries are required which means it will never fail you and leaves plenty of room for the imagination.

Do you have a budding fixer in your household?

Thanks for reading!xx

I think it’s great she’s fixing things. I agree about toys, I bought my grandson a baby doll, he loves feeding her. He’s 14 months, if he had a sister he’d just play with dolls anyway. I also bought my daughter a fire engine, everyone thought it was her brothers but why shouldn’t she have a fun toy too?

Ooh, I love this! I remember having something similar when I was a child because my dad and granddad usually had a tool kit in their hands. I didn’t realise they still made them, I might well treat my girls to one.x
