Folly Farm a Jam-Packed Day Out!

We visited Folly Farm last year when we stayed in Wales so when we went back last week Folly Farm was top of the list for one of the things we wanted to do.

Just as it did last year it exceeded all our expectations and it really isn’t just a farm! Think farm, zoo, fairground and outdoor play parks all thrown together and that is what Folly Farm has to offer. A fully packed day out for everyone to enjoy.

I remember thinking and saying this last year that I was just so impressed with how clean the farm was and again this year when we went into the Jolly Barn it was spotless with all your farm animals to go and look at. Amelia tends to do things at 100 miles an hour so zoomed around peeping at all the animals, clucking like a chicken and stroking whatever she could touch. I love her confidence with the animals and how much joy she gets out of looking at all the animals.

From the farm there is also a land train you can catch that takes you out into the fields to see more of the farm to see sheep, horses, donkeys, llamas, goats, deers and miniature ponies and out to the piggery.

Working your way outside to the Folly Zoo you get to see even more animals; giraffes, rhinos, meerkats, flamingos, lions, monkeys, wallaby’s, birds and zebras to name a few. The girls loved going out to the zebra and giraffe board walk that takes you up to their height, such a fun addition!

The penguins were Amelia’s favourites and she was most excited to go and see these. She stood for ages watching them through the underwater tanks whilst they were having their lunch! She probably would have stayed there all day watching them diving in and out of the water.

There is so much space and things to do at Folly Farm I don’t want to miss anything out! This year we didn’t actually go inside the Vintage Funfair and indoor soft play simply because of the dry weather we wanted to take advantage of the outdoor play areas and we knew we would lose the girls for ages if we did go inside to the soft play.

Outdoors FollyFarm

There are 5/6 different outdoor play areas alone not including, the Ferris Wheel, diggers, ride on’s pedal tractors, go-karts and sand pit. Amelia loved exploring all the different play areas and felt at home in the sand pit I think! All these outdoor play areas are amazing, giant wooden castles and pirate ships full of slides and hidden cabins to explore it really is a child’s dream day out!

It is such a fantastic adventure park and if it was closer we would definitely go there more often and I can’t recommend it enough for a day out. With so many animals to see, outdoor and indoor play areas you day will be jam packed and one to remember!

Thanks for reading!xx

We went to Folly Farm last year – on the wettest day ever known to man! I hope to visit again some day when the weather’s nicer – it looks like you had a great day out x
