January is a great time to start new projects and this one couldn’t be anymore fitting for me. This is a photography project called the Home Life Project where you basically document a day over the weekend through photographs. You can find out more about the link up over on MayBush Studios blog.
A challenge like this couldn’t really have come at a better time. I got a new camera for Christmas so as much practice as I can get is only going to help. I got the Olympus Pen E-PL8 which is just such a lush camera and I don’t want to just use it in auto all the time. So a project like this will get me taking more photographs of our entire day and testing out different ways of using the camera. I find it fairly easy to take outdoor snaps as that’s where a lot of my photos are taken but I’m definitely looking to improve my indoor photography.
I said in my first LittleLoves post the other day that I was hoping to share a bit more of the normal with you and a post like this definitely does that!
Sunday morning started at about 8am with Amelia waking everyone up like she does most mornings and down for breakfast and TV to start off the day. Amelia unfortunately had a huge meltdown when it was time to turn the TV off and get dressed but did eventually snap out of it and then she was pretty much good as gold throughout the rest of the day. We spent the morning doing puzzles had an early lunch then headed out for a big walk. Myself, Amelia and my parents took the short drive toward Swanage for a nice walk. The walk actually ended up being about 3miles and we were out for a couple of hours. I was so impressed with how far Amelia walked I don’t even think she noticed as she was too busy running about, splashing in puddles and playing with the dog. We were treated to some pretty incredible views at the half way point!
When we got back it was playdough for Amelia whilst I cracked on with cooking a roast dinner which was pretty delicious even if I do say so myself! We finished our day with Zootropolis and a couple of games before Amelia went up for a bath and off to bed.
I’m actually fairly pleased with these photos, most are just candid snaps I got and I think they really do showcase our day. I even had a go at Clare’s photo challenge of ‘night-time windows’ at getting a snap through the window looking in. Definitely another way of taking a photo that I wouldn’t have thought of!
Hope you liked seeing a bit more into our day.
