How To Make Masquerade Bird Masks + Free Printable Mask Template

Here’s a nice a simple craft that allows children to be as colourful and creative as they like. These fab masquerade inspired bird masks are bright, bold, colourful and nice and simple with the free printable provided.

Amelia loved this craft and how it turned out. I set it all up for her and then we got crafty together, this was a lovely one for us both to get involved in.

You Will Need;

  • FREE Bird Mask Template
  • Coloured Card
  • Lolly Sticks
  • Feathers
  • Gems
  • Glue Dots
  • PVA Glue

How to Make the Masquerade Bird Masks;

  1. Print out the FREE bird mask provided.
  2. Cut out the template and stick it onto some coloured card.
  3. Using a glue dot attach the lolly stick to the back of the mask.
  4. Time to get crafty and decorate with feathers, gems, sequins and anything you fancy.
  5. Leave to dry.
  6. Your mask is complete!

This is such a simple activity, older children could cut out the templates themselves and little ones can just get involved with the sticking and decorating.

As you can see from the masks we made a printable for the basic mask is provided, the other mask is simple to make with the original printable just keep a thicker border above the eyes on the top and a point for the nose. We had this glitter card which was perfect for keeping the masks nice and colourful. Decor wise you can just use whatever crafty bits you’ve got but I think the feathers work so well sticking with the masquerade theme.

Once made these would be great to use for a costume, fancy dress or just to play with afterwards.
