With the nice weather we’ve been having I’ve really enjoyed with coming up with some ways to do crafty things outside. We had actually been using a cardboard box opened out to lean on when we did a previous painting activity and I thought it would be a great idea to pop it out in the garden and do foot prints and just get messy!
I squeezed Amelia into a 6-12month vest (always handy to keep some spares for activities like this as then you can just throw them out) and got the bits set up in the garden. To begin with Amelia wasn’t sure but then got stuck in with her hands and feet stomping across the cardboard. I even joined in and forgot how nice it feels to have paint between your toes! As Amelia just loves to get as much paint on as possible it did get a little slippy so had to grab her arm a few times
Amelia mostly enjoyed using her hands and wiping it across and just making a huge mess, she kept screaming and running off and looking at the trail of paint following behind her! I set the camera up on timer and got some fun shots of me taking more photo’s of Amelia painting (a bloggers life eh!) It also caught the amazing moment Amelia spotted the camera and went charging for it and my face just says it all!
I gave Amelia one of her chunky paintbrushes and in true Amelia fashion she managed to get all of the remaining paint onto the cardboard! This was such a fun activity and one you could easily do. The amount of toys our children get and boxes they come in, even if they were small ones you could tape them together and do the same thing!
This was such a fun activity and one I would love to do with Amelia and some of her friends and one we will do again as Amelia loved it! Clean up was a bit hard as we both had a lot of paint on us. Fortunately mine had dried so I managed to put flipflops on and to carry a paint covered Amelia up for a quick shower as she was pretty unimpressed with being covered in paint once she had finished her masterpiece!
