This is mostly going to be me just photo spamming you all with some Autumnal photos of Amelia stomping in puddles and demanding which pumpkin she wanted picking next.
Sopley farm is just on the edge of the New Forest in Christchurch and has a tonne of different things available for Pick Your Own. It probably seems a bit premature to have gone pumpkin picking already but I don’t fancy it in the half term rush and it was so lovely we literally had the place to ourselves which meant Amelia was able to run free in and out the rows of pumpkins.
I’ve actually never been pumpkin picking myself before, I think it’s renowned for being quite an American tradition but one we will definitely be continuing as I really enjoyed dragging our sleigh along and filling it up with our choice of pumpkins which by the way are actually spiky to pull so be careful as I had no idea about this when I grabbed the first one…ouch!
We were also lucky enough that there were still lots of ripe strawberries so we had to grab a punnet of those too as they are Amelia’s favourites and a bit easier for her to be able to pick.
It was so much fun and I’m going to be baking up a storm with these pumpkins and creating lots of pumpkin themed recipes to share with you all. Definitely worth having a look into seeing if you have a pumpkin patch near you as it makes a great trip out for children of any age.
