It’s the end of July and Amelia’s pressed up against the back doors begging to go in the “garben” which on summer days she’s usually free to roam in her favourite place. However, today its pouring with rain and were going to be stuck indoors all day! Fortunately we’ve been kitted out with rainwear from Regatta which meant when the rain eased off a little I didn’t need to say no to going outside.
Amelia loves nothing more than being outside and it’s an easy way to burn off energy which is much needed for a hyperactive toddler. Amelia’s Rain Suit is perfect for rainy days and for her age. Last year she was still quite young so I went for a snowsuit as I was more concerned about keeping her warm but this year I can layer her up underneath and pop this rain suit over the top. As it’s thin it rolls up super small so could be kept in a bag/car/pram for emergencies!
This is waterproof, breathable, 100% polyester and comes in a few different animal designs. The little ears on the hood look so so cute and it’s the perfect fit. After some puddle splashing, running around spotting bugs and looking at the flowers Amelia was still perfectly dry underneath which is exactly what you want in a product like this.
I’ve been eyeing up yellow fisherman style coats for a while so I’m so happy with this one Bayeux II Jacket. I also got the matching ankle wellies- Lady Harper Welly. Which I wasn’t sure about at first, they weren’t something I thought I would wear but they’ve really grown on me and I love that they match the coat.
The coat is a stylish fit but still super practical. It has watertight seams and an adjustable hood to make sure none of your face gets wet. This like Amelia’s puddle suit is 100% polyester and after putting it to the test on a few outings and an afternoon puddle splashing with Amelia it’s waterproof!
The wellies are beautiful. I love the pattern of them and the colours together just work so well. They are 100% rubber, waterproof, natural cotton lining and grippy soles! They slip on and off so much easier, are really comfy and I have definitely been converted to the ankle welly!
As they are both so lightweight it didn’t take them long to dry off either which is a huge bonus. No-one wants to be lugging around wet things or having them soak the floor.
I love how both our outfits really brighten up gloomy wet days in stylish ways but they are both practical pieces that work really well. It meant we were able to enjoy being outside even in the bad weather which really cheered Amelia up.
How do you cope outdoors in the rain with your little ones?
