Saturday started off super chilled with my Mum getting up with Amelia so that I could enjoy a massive 10;30am lie in! I am lucky Amelia tends to sleep until between 7-8am most mornings but it was such a treat to have a bit of extra sleep and not be awoken by a toddler and out of bed within seconds, so our morning was nice and slow and we decided after lunch we would head for an afternoon at Ringstead Bay.
This is somewhere we’ve been once before so it was nice to go back and enjoy the cobble and pebble beach as we are used to the golden sands at Sandbanks! Amelia brought her basket with her for collecting stones and couldn’t even wait until we were at the beach and began gathering stones from the carpark that she wanted to throw into the water. Even when we were on the beach she was gathering stones and hurling them into the water quicker than ever, not like the beach was going to run out!
I think it’ s another hidden part of Dorset that not that many people know about, even though both times we’ve been it’s been pretty gloomy it’s such a beautiful spot.
Amelia had to have a quick trouser change as she waded in the water a bit deep and it went up and in her wellies, she probably would have happily stayed in the wet trousers though!
We spent about two hours walking about and Amelia throwing stones into the water and attempting to throw some giant rocks! I love that this keeps her entertained, I think this will be something that I tell her in years to come when she’s asking for expensive things and super expensive days out, that when she was little all she needed was some water and an ever lasting bucket of stones. I love how much she enjoys being outdoors, something I hope she always loves.
Here are a few more photos of our afternoon!
