Top 10 Things to do EVERYDAY

Another week of Thursday Top Ten is here and today I’m going to share with you my top ten things to make sure that you do EVERYDAY and in doing so you will be the happiest person on the planet!!!! Okay maybe not entirely, but I think they are ten great things you should at least try to do everyday.

1. Spend time with those you LOVE.

“The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing.”

Make sure at least part of your day is spent with some of those you love. There are loads of things important in life but ultimately family, friends and loved ones are the key to being most happy. They bring out the best in us! We live in a technological crazed world so even if you don’t live right by them send an email, text or skype! It will make you feel much better.

2. Be Thankful and grateful.

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never ever have enough.” (-Oprah Winfrey)

We can be selfish people. Make sure your day is filled with lots of ‘please’ and ‘thank you’s’ you don’t want to be a rude person and it isn’t hard to be polite and have manners. It will make you feel better and the person you are thanking. Be thankful for what you have and remember how lucky you are. Showing gratitude will make you feel happier and ultimately a much better person.

3. Wake up early.

“Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” (-Benjamin Franklin)

Each day is a brand new page and a brand new start, don’t waste it laying in bed thinking of all the great things your going to do tomorrow because you won’t. Get up and do them today! 

4. Challenge yourself and learn something new.

“If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.” (-Fred Devito)

Doing the same thing every day is mundane and boring. Learning new things will keep your mind active. Find out what your interested in and learn more about it, feed your knowledge. It will totally make you feel great.

5. Do at least one good deed.

“No one has ever become poor by giving.” (-Anne Frank)

Helping others makes you happy. Whether it be donating to charity, complimenting someone at work or offering to do a favour with nothing expected in return, performing random acts of kindness will make you feel really great. And my theory is your good deeds will add up and give some help when you need it most!

6. Smile more. Laugh more. 

“If we couldn’t laugh, we would all go insane.” (-Robert Frost)

There are actual proven health benefits to laughing and smiling more. Instead of getting cross about that tiny thing that has gone wrong laugh about it instead. Smile at the person you walk passed in the street and laugh out loud.

7. Exercise.

“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.” (-Jim Rohn)

Running after toddlers is totally included in this one. Just 7 minutes a day could be enough to completely change your lifestyle. Health benefits aside it makes you feel good afterwards and is proven to be one of the secrets to a good life!

8. Get outside.

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” (–Albert Einstein)

There is nothing worse than being cooped up inside all day. A breath of fresh air can completely change the way your feeling and makes you more creative. Therefore approaching your next task of the day in a completely different mind set. 

9. Listen to music, be positive!

“You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind.” -(Joyce Meyer)

There is no better mood changer than turning up the radio, belting out a good Whitney power ballad or dancing around the kitchen in your pyjamas. It can completely get you out of the rut your in change your mood. A simple thing like this is one way of being positive. Being optimistic and positive will make your day better and MAKE YOU BETTER!

10. Sleep more.

“Sleep is the best meditation.” (-Dalai Lama)

You can’t be happy if your tired, end of. Your more likely to get ill if your tired and your less likely to be productive if your tired. Also make sure you go to bed content, don’t be in an argument or cross with anyone. You won’t be able to sleep and you’ll have a bad nights sleep. Getting enough sleep is the key to a great day.

 

So there we have my mantra of things you should do everyday to make you happier, healthier and a better person!

    Great list. I don’t need any encouragement do participate in number 3 my son helps with this one! But this affects me doing number 10, which I love and defiantly agree with! Sleep is a miracle cure.
    I will take lots of these on board especially number 7.
