Weekend: Peppa Pig, Swanage and Sunshine

I don’t religiously write up about our weekends but if we’ve done lots of exciting things and I’ve taken lots of photos (that’s a lie I always take lots of photos) I like to document the good weekends more for myself but to also share with you what we’ve been up to.

My weekend started on Friday night enjoying a Wagamama’s and Prosecco in the garden with a friend for a catch up. What better way to start the weekend than with a katsu curry!

Saturday morning I did the house work and got the house all clean and tidy and let Amelia just have a relaxing morning with the iPad and playing with some toys. We went to one of Amelia’s good friends 2nd birthday Saturday lunch time.

It was a Peppa Pig party and my friend really did such a fantastic job. All the toddlers loved the Peppa Pig bouncy castle and the food was amazing. Amelia loved the Peppa biscuits!

Saturday- Bouncy Castle

Amelia is just like me as a toddler and when she goes to a party she really looks like she’s been to a party. She was a sweaty mess by the time we left, after bouncing on the bouncy castle, eating way to much sugar and splashing everyone with the water from the bird bath she had such a fun time and it’s so nice seeing her and her friends together and celebrating their birthdays. I can’t believe its Amelia’s turn to turn two next!!

As it was such a nice day we went back to one of Amelia’s friends house for a little play in the garden. You all know how much Amelia loves being outside but a change of scenery and some different toys is always a good idea plus Amelia loves playing with her friend Amber. Look how funny they look sat at the little table eating their icecreams!

We ended a busy Saturday tucking into homemade Eton Mess. I made meringue for the first time Saturday morning and was so happy with how it turned out. Recipe will be up on Friday!

Sunday morning started with a huge battle to get Amelia to eat her breakfast. She literally has two mouthfuls of anything and won’t have any more these days then we set off to the sea side for the day with my Mum and Dad. We haven’t had a family day out for a little while so it was really nice.

We go to the beach sometimes a few times a week but on Sunday we went to Swanage which is about 30 minutes away from us and just reminds me so much of going their as a child with my sister and Granddad and has a real seaside feel to it. Lots of little village and sea front shops, fish and chips everywhere and loads of ice cream stalls it was the perfect day for it.

Thankfully the cloud shifted and it was nice and sunny. Amelia took her “mo” (Nemo) bucket with her and did some stone collecting and stone throwing into the sea and we stopped and grabbed lunch. We saw this cute cafe on the railway- its a stationary carriage set out like a cafe!

We had a mooch around all the little shops and got an icecream. I love little town shops as they always have cute vintage bits to look at. We found a bear ,tramadol drug shop that had the most gorgeous teddy bears and dolls and a giant bear outside obviously calls for a photo opportunity!

We got home late afternoon and Amelia played in the garden with her Nana and Gramps. My Mum found out my old Duplo that they kept which is so lovely to see Amelia playing with my old things whilst I cooked a roast dinner and made muffins!

Muffins & Duplo

It was a perfect end to the Sunday although it followed by a terrible bedtime (from Amelia) I however, was ready to hit my pillow by 9pm.

A really busy weekend but good busy. It didn’t feel hectic we just had loads going on but a weekend like this always leaves me feeling really content!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Thanks for reading!xx

Wow it’s sounds like a perfectly busy weekend. The Peppa Pig biccies looked fab and the bouncy castle. Like you I love the little sea side shops. My favourite is the one on Poole Quay, I can’t go in there and not buy anything! X
