Recently we were asked to be involved with the Weymouth Sea Life Ambassador scheme which was super exciting. Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park is a fairly local attraction to us (around 40minutes away) and somewhere we have visited a few times, so I’m very excited for lots of visits over the next year.
Amelia has such a love for animals especially sea life animals, with Nemo being her favourite film (there is a whole tank of clown fish!!) and as she’s getting older she is so curious about the animals and where they come from. Weymouth Sea Life offers so much for to do and is a really great day out for the family; with an aquarium to explore with over 1000 marine creatures, the underwater tunnel, a splash pool and rides to enjoy it’s a non-stop day to enjoy!
Amelia was so excited looking round all the sea life animals and spotting what they each were, she pretty much got them all right and wanted to know the specific names of all the different fish. I love how Weymouth Sea Life is set out, you can follow the park round into each of the numbered areas exploring different marine life and making sure you don’t miss anything plus there is lots of space for little ones to run free.
Amelia’s favourites like always were the penguins. Although she really wanted to see them swimming in the water which they didn’t whilst we were there. She also really liked the seals, who you can view from above and underneath watching them in the water and pushing the buttons to make the bubbles go off in their tank. There are varied feeding times throughout the day but lots of staff around the park available to answer any questions and help you should you need it.
Throughout the year the Sea Life Park have different events on and for this month it is the Mister Maker Creature Makes. With different craft sessions throughout the day and extra craft bits to collect around the park it’s a really fun extra that Amelia loved. We were given a craft bag and watched a little Mister Maker video then got crafting our sea life creature. Amelia did really well and couldn’t wait to get it home and up on the fridge!
The real added extra to the sea life park is the splash pool area. With an actual pool and slide, a splash area and a little park it’s such a great addition for children on a sunny day. Amelia couldn’t wait to get her swim bits on and jump in. It wasn’t the hottest day so she wasn’t in it for long but she loved it. Running in between the water sprinklers and jets she really loves the water. Her face was full of smiles and screams whilst running across the splash pad and I cannot wait for hotter summer days spent enjoying it!
There are plenty of benches and grassy areas around to sit and enjoy a picnic or there is a cafe with hot food, drinks and ice creams avaliable. We took a picnic with us and enjoyed our picnic on a bench in the sunshine!
As it was fairly quiet whilst we were there we whizzed back round to see our favourites again; penguins, seals, otters, turtles and go through the under water tunnel. That is my favourite part walking through the tunnel and looking up to see the giant turtles and sharks swim over your head, it’s such a cool feature! We also popped over into the Adventure Island section of the park where there are a few rides and more food options. Amelia isn’t quite tall enough for the rides yet but we were able to go on the spinning seals together.
Weymouth Sea Life Park is a brilliant day out with loads to do for children. Amelia loved it and literally asked to go back the next day! Looking forward to lots of Summer days spent here.
